How a Panna Family Is Made
Take panna 128. Each digit can stay or become its cut: 1 or 6, 2 or 7, 8 or 3. Every mix, written as a panna (digits rising, 0 counted as the biggest), gives the family: 123, 128, 137, 178, 236, 268, 367, 678.
When two digits are the same or are cuts of each other, some mixes repeat, so a family has 8, 6 or 4 pannas. Of the 35 families, 10 have 8 pannas, 20 have 6 and 5 have 4. SP DP TP colours are the same as on the 220 patti chart.
